Whether you call it potholing, daylighting, or hydro excavation, we call it the safest way to expose utilities.

Hydrovac Excavation / Air Vacuum Extraction

Hydro excavation and air vacuum excavation offers a nondestructive, cost effective and accurate method to safely locate underground utilities, precisely excavate soils and remove material. Pressurized water or air is used to break up soil which is then removed through a vacuum and deposited into a debris tank. Once excavated, the utilities are exposed, allowing for accurate utility design, repair and coordination, damage prevention and other necessary underground activities.

Applications for Air Vacuum and Hydro Excavation:

  • Caisson excavation
  • Culvert & drain cleanout
  • Utility potholing
  • Sign and pole installation
  • Slot trenching
  • Underground line exposing
  • Digging under existing structures
  • Drill head recovery
  • Drill mud removal
  • Elevator shaft cleanouts
  • Filter cleanouts/water plants
  • Frozen ground digs
  • Material/debris removal
  • Pipeline tie-ins/maintenance
  • Pond excavation
  • Power plant ash removal
  • Rail road tie cleanouts
  • Remote digs (400 feet away)
  • Sludge removal
  • Water extraction
  • Extraction of wet & dry materials
  • Cathodic protection installation
  • Confined area excavation

Benefits of Hydrovac Excavation:

  • Safety | SiteWise’s state-of-the-art equipment virtually eliminates utility damage and personal injury from hits and strikes of utility lines.
  • Damage Prevention | Avoid financial liabilities, inconvenience to utility users, and damage to utility lines.
  • Flexibility | Excavate utilities in highly-congested building or traffic areas, high liability utility corridors and remote sites up to 400 feet away from the truck, in any weather condition.
  • Functionality | Vacuum excavation also can be used to uncover pipelines, phone lines and fiber optics, to excavate for signs and signals, and clean and remove debris from manholes, concrete basins, culverts and wells.
